How to Delete All Your Chats in Claude

If your Claude chat history has gotten a little crowded, you don’t have to delete conversations one at a time. Claude offers a way to select and delete multiple chats from its Chats and tasks page.

Here’s how to clear them out using Claude in your web browser.

Before you start: Deleting a conversation is permanent, so make sure you’ve saved anything you want to keep.

1. Open your Claude chat history

Sign in to Claude and go to claude.ai/recents. This opens the Chats and tasks page, where your conversations are listed.

2. Enter selection mode

Click the three dots beside a conversation and choose Select. You can also use the Select button near the upper-right corner of the page.

3. Select all conversations

Once you’re in selection mode, click Select all in the upper-right corner. You can also select individual conversations if you only want to remove some of them.

4. Delete the selected chats

Review your selection, then click Delete or Delete Selected and confirm the deletion if prompted.

Afterward, check your chat list for any remaining conversations. If you have a long history and some weren’t included in the selection, repeat the process until you’ve cleared the chats you want to remove.

And that’s it—no tedious one-chat-at-a-time cleanup required.
